Skimi Public Works

A continent is not finished when the land is made.

Somebody has to build the roads, the bridges, the village greens, the signposts and the small things that make a place feel lived in. That is what the Public Works is for: we hand out the projects, you build them, and the finished work becomes part of the grid.

Members are called
Beavers

A Beaver gets a clear brief, a piece of ground to work on, build rights where they are needed, and the group tag over their head. When the work is done we look at it together, and then it is handed over to the grid, where everyone gets to use it.

How it works

1 You apply Tell us what you build and show us something. The form is at the bottom of this page.
2 We talk If it fits, you join the group Skimi Public Works and wear the Beaver tag.
3 You pick a project From the board, or we suggest one. Every project has a brief, a place, and a reward in SK$.
4 You build it On grid land, with the rights you need for that spot.
5 We look at it together If something is off, we say so, and you get the time to fix it.
6 It is handed over The work becomes grid property and stays where it is, with your name in the credits.

Open projects

Every one has a brief, a place on the map and a reward. Pick the one you want, or write and we will suggest something.

village SK$ 6,000

Bergdorf Elm Lea

Elm Lea (8009, 8003)

A small village in the snow and Christmas country, on the Snowline Road. Houses, a square, fences. No kitsch overload, it should look lived in.

I would build this the biggest one on the board
road SK$ 4,000

Tidewater Road · west section

High Croft to Tide Shallows

Carriageway 8 m, 4 m shoulder each side. Please keep the straights straight and the curves soft; leave the shoulder clear for planting, lamps and signs.

Blender bundle · roads/Tidewater Road
I would build this axis and edges are in the bundle
road SK$ 3,000

Snowline Road · mountain track

Oak Holt to Chestnutton

Narrow unpaved track, 4 m carriageway, 2 m shoulder, above 95 m elevation. Rough is fine, it should feel like a track and not a road.

Blender bundle · roads/Snowline Road
I would build this above the snow line
kit SK$ 2,500

Street furniture · lamps and signs

grid-wide

A set of lamps, waymarkers and marker posts that suits both the coast and the highland. Used on every road, so a few good pieces beat many mediocre ones.

I would build this goes everywhere, so it matters most
junction SK$ 1,500

High Croft junction

High Croft (8007, 8001)

Edge on edge, no roundabout. The parcel is larger here, so there is room for a bench, a sign, maybe a ten minute rez zone.

I would build this a good first one

Become a Beaver

Two things are required and everything else is optional. We read every application ourselves.

Exactly as it appears inworld, two words.
Leave it empty and we answer you inworld instead.
What do you build?
Pick what fits. More than one is normal, and none of it has to be perfect.
A screenshot, a build we can walk into, anything. Nothing polished needed.
No CV needed, we would rather hear what you enjoy. 0 characters
