What may happen here

Every region on this grid carries a letter, and the letter is a promise its owner makes to whoever walks in. There are two of them. This page says what each one means, where the line is on both, and what we do when somebody crosses it.

G General 141 of the 142 regions here

Anything you would show to whoever happened to walk in.

The mainland is General, and so is nearly everything on the grid. It is the letter you take when you have not got a reason to take the other one · not a restriction, just the ordinary case.

Room for
Building, shops, gardens, railways, a bar A row, a swear word, an argument that gets loud Anything at all, as long as you would not mind an unannounced visitor
M Moderate one region here, today

Rougher ground · and you are saying so up front.

Coarser language, violence you can see rather than infer, themes you would want somebody to know about before they arrived. Suggested rather than shown. The letter is on the map, so a visitor chooses to come.

Room for
Language and subject matter you would not put on a shop front Depicted violence, a fight, a horror build Suggestion, implication, the closed door · not what is behind it

The test is not a list of forbidden words, it is one question: would you show it to anybody who happened to walk in? If yes, it is General. If you would rather they knew first, it is Moderate. Nobody is graded on the answer · a Moderate region is not a lesser one, and the letter is how a visitor gets to decide for themselves.

The line that both letters share

Moderate is a wider room, not an open door. Three things are outside both letters, and they are not a matter of taste:

Nothing sexual involving children, or figures made to look like them Including avatars, builds, textures, notecards and scripted text. There is no reading of this rule that makes an exception, and it is the one thing here that ends an account on the spot.
Nothing that celebrates real violence A horror build is a horror build. Recreating a real atrocity as entertainment, or dressing a place in the symbols of one, is a different thing and it does not belong here.
Nothing unlawful Stolen content passed off as your own, harassment of a named person, anything that would be a crime outside the viewer. Content you did not make and cannot show a right to is included.

These hold on a private parcel with nobody watching, on a region nobody visits, and on land you pay for. They are not about who might see it.

Adult · why there is no third letter

Other grids have one. We have decided not to, and we would rather say so here than let you find out by looking for a button that does not exist.

It would need an age check we do not have, a different set of rules, and a different answer to who may come in from another grid. Any one of those we could build. All three, honestly, we would rather not · and half of them is worse than none, because it would look like a rule while working like a suggestion.

So the two letters are the whole set. If that is not the grid you are looking for, that is a fair thing to know before you rent here rather than after.

The viewer will still show you an Adult setting, because it belongs to the software rather than to us. If a region is set to it, we set it back to whichever of the two letters that region is registered under, and the owner hears from us the same minute. While it stands on Adult the region is not listed here.

When something is wrong

We look, and we say something. In that order, and usually that is the end of it.

1 We look Because somebody told us, or because we were passing. We go and see it ourselves rather than acting on a description.
2 We say something To the owner, in plain words, with what we saw and what we think it should be. Most of the time the answer is that the region carries the wrong letter, and changing it is the whole fix.
3 You get time Days, not hours, and we say how many. If you disagree, say so · you are talking to a person, not a queue.
4 Then we switch it off Only if the conversation went nowhere, and only as far as it has to go: a parcel, a region, or an account. What you built is not deleted, and your inventory is untouched.

The three things on the shared line skip the conversation. Everything else gets one, because most of what looks wrong from outside turns out to be a misunderstanding about which letter a region carries.

Choosing yours

You pick a letter when you rent a region, and you can change it whenever you like from inside the viewer · World › Region/Estate › Region. It costs nothing and takes effect at once. The mainland is General and stays General · the choice belongs to a region of your own.

Telling us

Write to contact@skimi3d.com with the region name and what you saw. A person reads it, and you get an answer either way.

You do not have to be sure. Telling us about something that turns out to be fine costs you nothing.

Visiting from another grid

The letters apply to you as they do to everyone. What you brought with you is your own business until you show it to somebody here · then it is on our ground and this page covers it.

This page is how we mean to run the place, in our own words. The privacy notice and the terms stay the binding documents · where they and this page disagree, they win.
