Fog rides the line
Quirp photographs the same spots at the same hour every few days and compares. On Thursday and Friday, he found fog.
At Rosefield, The Green, on Thursday, Quirp noted heavy fog, visibility down to roughly 20 metres, and "no structural change behind the haze". On Friday the fog was at Rosebury station, "rail and sign barely holding their shape", and at Mossy Brook, where the bay and bridge were "gone from view, sign and lamp swallowed too."
Fox Heath had heavy haze and a sky "gone grey-violet". Thorn Bank had a pink sky, haze over the lake and thinner snow on the ground. At Mossy Brook Quirp noted "same rails, same trees". At Thorn Bank it was "same trees, same signs, no train."
